Loyalty Discounts, simplified

A short note to let you know we've just simplified how the Loyalty Discounts program works — for clarity and a bit more fairness.

TL;DR: Before, each of your hosting accounts had its own discount locked in at purchase. Now, one discount tier applies to all your accounts at once — every new order and every renewal. Your overall bill stays close to where it was. Renewals are predictable.

What's changed:

Old way: each account had its own rate. Account #1 might renew at 0%, account #2 at 5%, account #3 at 10% — based on the tier you were in when you ordered that specific account.

New way: one tier applies to all your accounts. Climb a tier, every account climbs with you. Renewals always match your current tier, with no per-account history to track. If you reached 10% discount, all your old accounts purchased at 5% discount will renew at 10% your reached.

That's the biggest fix: under the old rules, your very first hosting account was permanently locked at 0% off, It's now fixed.

The new tier table:

1anyStandard price
2+1–245% off
2+25–4910% off
2+50–7415% off
2+75–9920% off
2+100+25% off

The program activates when you have 2 or more active hosting accounts. With a single account, you stay on standard pricing, same as before.

Points per package are same as before too: Personal+ = 1, Personal x2 = 2, Business = 3, Business x2 = 5.

What this means for your bill:

For most customers, the total cost stays close to where it was. Some accounts that were stuck at 0% (typically your first one) now finally get your loyalty discount; others that were locked at a higher rate may shift slightly. On the whole, the changes balance out.

Here is a worked example: A client with 5 Personal+ and 5 Business x2 accounts have 30 total points:

Before: each account at its at-purchase rate:

Personal+ ($5)0% locked$5.00
4 × Personal+ ($5)5% locked$19.00
Business x2 ($15)5% locked$14.25
2 × Business x2 ($15)10% locked$27.00
Business x2 ($15)15% locked$12.75
Business x2 ($15)20% locked$12.00
$90.00

After: uniform 10% tier applied to every account (30 pts → 10% tier):

5 × Personal+ ($5)10%$22.50
5 × Business x2 ($15)10%$67.50
$90.00

Same total. Different mix: the first account, which paid full price under the old model, now gets the loyalty discount it earned years ago. The top-tier accounts that were locked at higher rates settle at the same 10% as everything else.

When it takes effect

Effective today. Your next renewal is calculated under the new rules. Everything else — your servers, your hosting plans, your data, our price-lock guarantee stays exactly the same.

Common questions:

Q. I used to place new orders at a 25% discount, now it says 15%. Why?

Two factors changed, and the second explains the first.

Under the old model, your top tier applied in full only to new orders. Your existing accounts kept renewing at whatever rate they were locked into at purchase, starting from 0%, 5%, or 10%. So that 25% was real, but it only touched the next hosting you ordered, not the accounts you already had.

Under the new model, your tier applies to your entire hosting accounts, every new order and every renewal. Because the discount now does much more work, we expanded the point thresholds out (25% now sits at 100+ points instead of 30+).

So the discount number on a new order may be lower, but the discount on your renewals went up. Look at your total annual bill rather than the single new-order cost, and most clients come out even or slightly save.

Q. What happens if I close some accounts and drop a tier?

Your tier is recalculated at each action like renewal, new order, upgrade or cancellation. based on the accounts active at that moment. If closing accounts takes your point total below a threshold, your discount steps down to the lower tier. Anything already renewed at the higher rate keeps it until its own next renewal.

The same works in reverse: add accounts back and you climb again, just as quickly. And if you drop below 2 active accounts, the program simply deactivates and you return to standard pricing until you have two again.
